Gary Rogers began his “construction career” at the age of 8 when his father bought an old D6/9U for the family farm, to remove hedge rows. At the age of 19 he was hired by a local site work contractor during the infamous Ice Storm of 1991. Over the next 13 years, Gary’s dedication and hard work allowed him to climb the company ladder resulting in his final position of superintendent.

During the tail end of his employment Gary felt there was a need for just earth work contractors. Through his determination and “what ever it takes” attitude, WSE was originated in January 2004.

Leasing a small shop in Ontario, NY with one other employee and three pieces of machinery, WSE started performing earthwork projects for large site work contractors. In 2007, however the economy faced the worst financial crisis since the Great Depression. That crisis put WSE in competition with what use to be their clients. Knowing something needed to change in order to survive, Gary decided to grow the company.

Through that growth stage WSE now has a permanent home on an 40 acre parcel in Palmyra, NY with over 18 employees and over 40 pieces of machinery.
